It's the time of year again where you're not sure whether or not to pull out the fall/winter wear or keep pushing the summer wardrobe pieces juuuuuust a little longer. I know I should just change The Jaunty Magpie to The Jaunty J. Crew-Obsessed Magpie, but I can't help it, I love their classic, smart style. Their looks always Inspire me to no end, as did their summer floral mix that could just as easily segway into fall days, with a bit of layering.

Here's a jaunty challenge for you! I will be attending an event in two weeks at the Seattle Aquarium that is a fundraiser for Children's Hospital. It's Luly Yang's annual couture fashion show and I'm going because I'm an event sponsor. The only problem...what to wear. It's ocean themed, in the evening, and we're encouraged to wear blues. I'm needing some inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHey Anne - you lucky gal, the event sounds like an undersea dream! I was thinking something organza-flowy, like the motion of the sea. Or fitted with a slim silhouette, maybe with a bit of sparkle, like the irridescent fleck of a fish scale or a mermaid. Doesn't have to be these exactly, but here's some to think about - plus, I like the one-shoulder look; it keeps the dress modern and not too prom-like:
