Summer Onwards! Have you made the seasonal switch to full Summer Mode? Unlike winter's chill, where we're piling on every scrap of clothing we own, summer is the opposite -- minimalism is the way to go, with light, comfortable clothing. The focus should be on the items that aren't subject to fit or size -- mainly, our skin and its protection from that great burning orb in the sky. Skincare is the priority for summer -- keep sunscreen handy, a wide-brimmed hat to shade your face, sunglasses to ward off glare, and a slouchy, casual bag to fit all the fun stuff you'll want to tote around, from beach party to picnic BBQ.
Gearing up for summer can still be stylish and fun. And sunscreen is less of a chore, now that there are so many different options, whether you use a powder-based sun-blocker, a tinted sunscreen/moisturizer, or an all-in-one body/face sunscreen. And even if you're avoiding a tan, fake the bake with a good bronzer. Have fun with nail polish -- use wild, bright colors on your toes, since you'll be rocking the sandals and flip-flops for a few months. And don't forget to bring your e-reader or iPad, loaded with books and magazines -- giving it a sporty cover just makes it more fun. {1} Metallic Trim Rancher Hat, {2} Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral Powder SPF45, {3} Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion and Broad Spectrum SPF50 for Face and Body, {4} Daisy Beach Hobo Bag, {5} NARS Bronzing Powder, {6} Deborah Lippman Summer Nail Collection in She Drives Me Crazy, {7} Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in Mandarin Orange, {8} Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF20 Oil-Free, {9} Ray-Ban Justin in Matte Turquoise, {10} Kate Spade Composition Notebook iPad Folio
