Happy Independence Day! I know, it's a little early to be lighting fireworks and making things go "boom!" but this Birdy thought of this year's July Fourth to be a real celebration of independence. We should remember all those who fought for this country's hard-won freedoms, we should take a moment to think of those who have sacrificed so much to make this nation what it is, a mad and wonderful chaos of opinion in all its faults and glory.
Given that July Fourth has unfortunately planted itself smack-dab in the middle of the work week, it's even more reason to truly celebrate one's independence -- of what in particular, you should feel free to decide. I came up with a few ideas that I will myself be celebrating independence of, so feel free to take those liberties as you see fit. Happy Fourth, y'all.
