It never fails, when summer comes around, this Bird cannot help herself but get obsessed with orange and vanilla creamsicle-dreamsicle heaven! So, even though I've done versions of this before, please indulge my sweet tooth and let me have this citron et vanille Mood.
The afternoons draw out into long dusky evenings. The air stays warm as the stars begin to come out and you have just enough time to sneak in a sweet dessert to see the night sky unfold. At least, that's what the sweet memory of youth whispers to me around this time of year. Delicious! I'm remembering those little ice cream cups with vanilla on one side, orange on the other. I remember very carefully (with the splintering wooden "spoon") carving out the vanilla and saving the orange for last.
