Recently back from a trip and may this Bird be honest for a moment and just say: WHEW...!! Already midway into March, and it's been a whirlwind of travel, projects, and upcoming events to plan for. I won't get into the boring details because, really -- don't we all go a little crazy now and then with too much to do and not enough time?

This Mood was brought on by a gift from a wise and good friend, the simple adage to Keep Calm and Carry On. Take a breath. Take another one. Close your eyes. Count to three. OK, maybe count to five. Feel your pulse slow down. Think of something calm and pleasant. Brew up a cup of herbal tea (nothing with caffeine!). Maybe go for a short walk to clear your head.

These are all good, simple things to do when the world doesn't seem to stop spinning.  I try all of them at various times. And when you figure out how this will all make one into a calmer, less spazmodic Jaunty Bird, do let me know. ;)

One thing to do right now is to stop, take a moment to be thankful for what you have around you, and think about ways you can help others, especially those in Japan suffering in the wake of one of the worst natural disasters the country has ever faced. More than ever, humanitarian groups need your support to help bring aid to people in need. Donate to your favorite charity, or if you need a suggestion, head to the American Red Cross and please, donate today. Every dollar counts, and it goes towards a life saved.
